Worksite Plans

Worksite programs are often misconstrued and I would say even underitilized in the work force today. Many, many employers will bring in a company to offer accident plans, critical illness, additional life, etc. but they just offer it as a supplemental benefit.

One of the things I really like to talk to my clients about is actually integrating your worksite programs into your employee benefit program.

If you are having a hard time paying for the premium for your $2500 deductible medical plan, why not raise your medical deductible maybe to $4000 or $5000, and then with the savings you generate, offset the added out of pocket costs with a hosptial indemnity plan or an accident plan? $2500 of coverage cost MUCH less from a worksite provider than it does a major medical carrier, I promise.

This is just one way we can really help employers save money by getting a little more strategic. Worksite programs can be great tools in the employee benefits arena, unfortunately, most people are not taking advantage of them like I feel they should.
